The world´s greatest authority on competitive strategy and international competitiveness, Porter is both a theoretician and activist. A Harvard Business School Professor, he is an advisor to governments and businesses alike.

In 2008 Porter received the first ever Lifetime Achievement Award from the U.S. Department of Commerce for his contribution to economic development.
