Jeffrey Katzenberg blows a kiss to Mark Hurd

At the Fortune Brainstorm Tech conference in Pasadena last week Fortune’s Adam Lashinsky interviewed an ‘odd couple’ Hewlett-Packard’s Mark Hurd and DreamWorks Animation’s Jeffrey Katzenberg, about the relationship between ﬁlm-making and technology.

According to Katzenberg, the relationship has gone beyond convergence to complete integration of the two industries, beyond dating to marriage, for better or for worse.

DreamWorks has built its animation-creation system on HP technology, and this CEO combo session was a love fest. We were able to capture the love in this photo we snapped from the audience, but you can watch it all on Fortune’s website.

Too bad that Jeffrey Katzenberg doesn’t know IT that well. I can’t imagine that Google would like to be compared to HP. Google have been very innovative and brought out some very interesting products. Mark Hurd is not really pushing the innovation envelope at HP, he keeps slashing the workforce left and right in the name of profit and his own bonuses and salary. Thousands of people have lost their job since he took over. By the way he earned $42 million plus in 2008, a 61% increase in his compensation from 2007. Didn’t Google have a motto of “Do No Evil”?
