Conference Hound Reporter Survives Avalanche in Austria

Rhianna Shaw, a British Correspondent for The Wag was buried in an avalanche on February 16 while skiing.

Buried alive, Rhianna came back from ‘dead’ after 15 minutes entombed by avalanche.  While buried she could not move and her screams could not be heard.  Her mobile phone, ringing in her pocket could not be reached.  The friends she was skiing with formed a chain across the mountain and retraced their steps using ski poles to probe the snow until they found her.  A full account can be found in the UK’s Daily Mail.

Rhianna was clinically dead when pulled out, but revived when given CPR.

We are happy to report that Rhianna is resting from her ordeal and we wish her the speediest of recoveries.
