Conference Hound-Up January 25, 2012: More News Than You Can Shake a Stick At

The Houston Auto Show begins today, showcasing over 500 new models from major domestic and international automakers, including the latest in hybrid and electric vehicles.  Down the street from there (or 162 miles away) in Austin is the Energy Investment Forum, where experts and major players will be discussing and deciding the direction of investment & technology in the energy sector.

Key Largo is hosting the Mobile Insider Summit, an informative three-day retreat for brand marketers, mobile solutions providers, and executives in the mobile marketing arena.  This event boasts an exclusive attendee list so if you’re lucky enough to attend, do let our readers know what you were able to pull out of the experience (aside from three days in a tropical paradise).

The World Economic Forum converges in Switzerland today, bringing some of the brightest and most influential minds together at a ski resort in Davos to collaborate on the strategies and solutions that will shape our global economic agenda.  I wonder why they didn’t invite me?  Probably because I don’t ski.

The NON-Event in Cambridge, MA will honor the non-profit sector this evening.  In case it doesn’t go without saying, that’s something that isn’t done often enough.

The PGA Merchandise Show offers a destination for all golfers and golf enthusiasts.  1,000+ vendors will be showcasing more golf goodies than you ever knew existed down in Orlando, in addition to offering seminars and speeches.

I heard a rumor the Super Bowl is approaching.  In between ads, the Giants and the Patriots will have a heated rematch of their 2008 championship game.  I’ll have to Tivo that, because there’s something much more important on at the same time.

If the world’s largest frying pan is an actual attraction, this thing‘s gonna be a Mecca.
