Conference Hound-Up June 11-15, 2012: Taking You To The Cloud

I decided to go with happy clouds

It’s gonna be cloudy this week, at least in the world of events.  I can’t predict the weather.  What am I, a magician?  But The Cloud isn’t the only topic of discussion.  Sift through all kinds of sexy conference highlights for the upcoming week right here:

SES Toronto is tackling a wide range of helpful topics up in the Great North.  It’s loaded up with sessions on social media, SEO, link building, mobile media, video optimization and much, much more.

Also kicking off in Toronto this week is NXNE, otherwise known as the North by Northeast Music & Film Festival  & Conference.  This wildly huge event boasts hundreds of thousands of attendees and millions of dollars getting thrown around, with 780 bands and 40 films over 7 days.  Some notables associated with NXNE this year include The Flaming Lips and Bad Religion.

The TV of Tomorrow Show sounds like something you’d find at one of those bygone World’s Fair events that had us all living in chrome houses with robot dogs by the year 1984.  What it actually is, though, is an interactive exchange of ideas amongst TV industry players from every corner, with the aim of defining and producing the near future of the boob tube.

Now a note on gamification.  Anything can be gamified now, because by putting forth a fun and interactive facade, you can draw folks right into your web.  The Game Dynamics for Brands Workshop helps you learn how to effectively gamify your product or service to give you a “competitive” advantage, or just an excuse to make little avatars of yourself that kill zombies.

And I promised clouds.  Behold, an array of opportunities to continue embracing the omnipresent cloud:  In New York, we are offered the 10th International Cloud Expo as well as the Cloud Computing Bootcamp for those of you who really need a kick in the pants; across the pond in London we have the more dignified-sounding Cloud Computing World Forum, and in Santa Clara we have the Cloud Leadership Forum.

These things are really just the tip of the iceberg; if we put all of our events in here this post would be a mile long.  What’s your bag, conference-speaking?  TechAdvertisingDigital MarketingSocial Media?  Are you a wine lover?  Yeah, we got that.
