Coming off a holiday weekend is always the worst, but The Hound Up is here to help you smoothly transition back into the working week. If you’re still aching for some time away from the office, try convincing your boss you need to hit up one of these events, you know, for the good of the company.
A 40-year-old Animation Film Festival called Animafest Zagreb is kicking off today in Croatia. I would go, but I’m pretty sure they stopped making Batman: The Animated Series so my interest in the genre has waned.
California also brings us D: All Things Digital Conference; a straight-shooting forum of innovative industry leaders delivering the straight dope on the current & future status of the digital world. The event will hopefully yield unprecedented insights from the most creative thought-leaders of digital technology.
The Asia-Pacific network of broadcasting professionals is offered Mediahub Market this week. This is a B2B trade show with a solid footprint, boasting participation from more than 60 countries and 120 broadcast organizations.
Aquaman is gonna have a full schedule this week. There’s a frenzy of maritime activity, if we choose to see it that way. The World Maritime Technology Conference (WMTC) summits in St. Petersburg while they deal with the legal side of things over at the International Maritime Law Conference in Copenhagen. Maybe their combined efforts will produce a completely legit way for us to deplete the world’s oceans of laser-sharks. They’re out there, and they’re getting ready. Trust me.
When someone says “bat phone,” the image in my head is a red light blinking because the commissioner is calling, followed by flipping back the head of a bust, a trip down the batpole and a magical costume change. I guess I’m old. Don’t tell anybody.
Speaking of super heroes, there’s news of an alliance amongst major internet forces in an effort to put an end to Big Brother’s incessant meddling. They’re calling themselves “The Internet Defense League,” perhaps to capitalize on some of that Avengers frenzy.
We’ll see you back here tomorrow!
