The gaming world is abuzz with delightful new additions this week as industry moguls unveil the future of gaming. The Electronic Entertainment Expo, properly referred to as “E3″ by those in the biz, is an opportunity to get psyched about upcoming releases across multiple platforms, not to mention some mixing and mingling among industry “players.”
Amidst the frenzy, Nintendo has announced the updated Wii U and 3DS, along with some new games sprouting out of their tentpole franchises. Sony sparked some news on God of War: Ascension and Quantic Dream’s Beyond while Microsoft towed their uber-successful military game line with announcements on Halo 4, Black Ops 2 and a new Splinter Cell. If you’re not drooling yet, you just aren’t much of a gamer. Maybe the new trailers for Resident Evil 6, Watch Dogs or Dead Space 3 will get those juices flowing.
If you’re unfortunate enough to be following the news from home instead of the ground floor, E3 has developed a very interactive portal to keep you up-to-date on the goings-on in Los Angeles. Whether you work in the industry or are just fascinated by it, you’d be wise to keep abreast of this one. It’s a massive event (46,000 strong) with all your favorite corporate sponsors & freebies on the expo floor, and touted as the ultimate gaming conference. It’s running today through Thursday at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
