Okay there’s quite a lot of things to get excited about at New York Comic Con this year.
First up, it has been ranked as the second largest event in New York City. Secondly, it is the second largest pop culture convention in ‘Murrica. I mean, that’s BIG, yo. And thirdly, it takes place in Gotham City! Now, I know what you’re thinking, ‘Uh, ex-ca-us-a-me, Gotham City is like, totes where Batman is from and it’s obvs not real’ (yes, in my head, you, the collective, are a valley girl). Well you’re wrong (okay busted: I’m wrong – I didn’t know it existed until about two minutes ago); it is real, and it is all about to kick off right now with a lot of people in a lot of costumes there too see “the latest and greatest in comics, graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, toys, movies, and television.”
Now get this, it is being held alongside the New York Anime Festival (NYAF) and one badge will get you into both! Woah.
I had a little peruse on the website and there is so much going on I felt like my head might explode.
But I shall soldier bravely on. There’s panels, screenings, exhibitors, shops, performances, autographs, costume contests, ‘pint nights’ (like the sound of that one), concerts, art auctions, dinners, shows, speed dating AND MORE.
