Prepare to be Dazzled: London Film and Comic Con 2012
Rhianna Shaw | Jul 05, 2012

With enough stars to rival the Milky Way London Film and Comic Con 2012 is set to be, well, dazzling, at the very least! Several much-loved characters will be in attendance, with heavy representation from Game of Thrones, X-Files and Star Trek. As will the pens behind the plots and pictures of some of the planet’s best known heroes, including Spiderman, Dennis the Menace and Superman.

This year boast several exciting arenas: attendees are advised to “start saving up now for the many-many anime dealers who shall be selling your favourite DVDs, manga, merchandise and goodies” in the Anime Zone, whilst the Cosplay Zone promises Cosplay (funnily enough) and “Elegant Gothic Lolita activities” as well as a meet-n-greet are to bond with like-minded souls. The Artist Alley is pretty self-explanatory, with workshops for drawing manga as well as for a BJD Display. One can find the Cosplay Olympics, masquerade and showdown at the Second Stage, along with talks from anime voice-actors.
For the competitive, the Trading Card Zone offers anime-related games such as Yu Gi Oh and Pokemon tournaments, or for those into something a little more active the Video Game Zone will be playing host to a variety of games, from dance and rhythm ones like Stepmania and Guitar Hero to more anime-related and modern gaming, with a promise of “something for the Retro fans”. (I don’t know about you but the VGZ would definitely be my first port of call – Dance Dance Revolution watch your step!)
And all that doesn’t even begin to touch on all the exciting talks, autographs, photo shoots and exhibits that will be taking place over the weekend. So if you’re on my side of the pond I advise dusting off those tights and underpants because this looks like a three day extravaganza not to be missed!
(How I felt when I found I can’t go…)
