The Collaborative Foster Care provides 24 hours of pre-service trainings at no cost to perspective foster, adoptive and kinship parents. Our training series covers a variety of topics related to caring for children who have experienced trauma, grief and loss. It also covers important aspects of working with the child welfare system and expectations of foster and adoptive parents.
Pre-service training includes:
8 week series, each week must be completed by both parents if a dual parent household
3 hours each week (scheduled from 6-9pm one weeknight a week)
A light meal will be provided each week
Child care is not provided please make other child care arrangements
Registration is required
NOTE: Due to the nature of materials and information covered, children and youth may not attend information night or pre-service trainings.
