A pragmatic approach to web design
Intermediate HTML5 / CSS3
and Beginner jQuery for Responsive Web / Tablet / Mobile sites
Whether a designer or just want to learn how to put sites together, this is a course making visual designs work.
First we start wtih classes to pass on ninja skills. Top students are selected to part of an additional apprenticeship program working on live projects. This feeds directly into positions with companies.
Classes are Tuesday, Thursday (6:30 - 8:00pm)

Designed for those that have basic/intermediate understanding of HTML / CSS and basic understanding of jQuery.
In this class we will combine the production aspect of graphics and the awesome powers of jQuery and CSS. We will focus on creating pixel-perfect layouts strictly on existing jQuery plugins and manipulating the results through HTML5 and CSS3.

Discussing web development and best practices
Pixel-perfect layouts
Using the @media_query feature

Extensive CSS practices
Resources and Utilities
Browser compatibility
Mobile, Tablet, and Desktop UI
We’ll lightly touch:
Accessing the jQuery plug-in library
Upon completion of this course, you will have the confidence to:
Build any layout into a web site
Take any jQuery plug-in and use to your benefit
Be confident
Trouble shoot
Write clean and organize HTML / CSS
Using the Developers Toolsets
Group and Combine selectors
Create web fonts
Utilize the @media_query

Basic computer literacy

Review of Files types (PNG’s versus JPG’s, etc.)
Discussion of Functional Spec, Sitemap, and Wireframe
Review of layout and how to approach production

The anatomy of HTML
HTML overview
What are selectors, css, boilerplates
Proper file management

The anatomy of CSS
Deep dive into selectors
Block Elements, Inline Elements, Replace Elements

Grouping and Combining selectors
Building a pixel perfect page using Developers Tools

About the instructor
