Interfaith Meditation Class

On Monday nights at 7 pm in the Bethel Library, an exciting transformation is taking place. Members of both Makom Ohr Shalom and Bethel Lutheran, as well as others from the community at large, aremeeting to learn and practice the fundamentals of sitting meditation; we are sharingour experiences and challenges with each other in a quiet, contemplative, interfaithsetting, guided by the joyful, serene presence of master meditator Kim O’Kelley-Leigh.Kim continues to show us the nature of the mind is restless moving in and out ofthoughts of the past and thoughts of the future. Meditation is where we can calmour restless mind and experience the present moment.
The class is designed for meditators at all levels, from first-time beginners to longtimedaily practitioners. Kim’s practical suggestions and proven, interactive techniquescan help all comers get the most out of the ancient art of meditation. Kimis an author and teacher whose passion is to help transform, inspire and encourageothers in creating a joyous, fulfilling and conscious life. She has been meditating ona daily basis for over 22 years, and she has taught and counseled people in lifeenrichment, privately, and in classes, for nearly three decades. Her book, “SilentM.a.g.i.c. and Other Remedies,” is an award-winning finalist in the self-helpmotivational category of the 2010 International Book Awards.
Bring a pillow for floor-sitting, or if you would prefer a chair, one will be provided.This class is offered on a pay-what-you-can basis.
