Stuttgart Animated Film Festival 2012

Beside the various competitions at the 19th Stuttgart Animated Film Festival, there are numerous Special Programs:

One of the festival’s highlights is the curated section the Best of Animation, presenting the most interesting and outstanding animated films of the last ten years. Panorama International offers an insight into current tendencies in the international animation scene. In the series In Perona, internationally renowned and artistically outstanding animators provide a personal insight into their work and methods. Internationally leading and innovative animation studios present their working methods and films at Studio.

The Stuttgart Animated Film Festival 2012 also offers Presentations to give an exclusive preview of new projects. In School Presentations, the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film shows programs from selected film and art schools.

As part of a retrospective of the German animation film legend Lotte Reiniger, the festival will not only show a selected part of her filmography, but also historic and current programs on silhouette film. This year, the country-based focus will be on the Caucus Region and Hungary.

Workshops at the Stuttgart Animated Film Festival will be in the fields of screenplay, character design and music for animation.  Audiovisual performances, lectures and exhibitions round off the festival’s program.
