U.S. - Canada Border Security Summit 2012

Apr 3-4, 2012 in Detroit, MI

Benefiting the 501c3 Roger Foundation & The RCMP National Remembrance Fund

In Dec. 2011, Prime Minister Harper and President Obama agreed to an Action Plan for the Canadian and U.S. “Beyond the Border” Declaration. Advancements towards achieving more efficient and effective real time situational awareness and interoperability of intelligence between the countries has created the need to bring together leaders in border security and management from the U.S. and Canada in order to discuss and debate the next-steps for today, tomorrow, and the future.

U.S. - Canada Border Security Summit 2012 is designed as an educational and training “Town Hall” forum, where thought leaders and key policy-makers across US and Canadian local, state, provincial and federal law enforcement can come together.

The U.S. - Canada Border Security Summit is broken into focus areas that include, but are not limited to:

1. Interoperable usage of intelligence
2. Applying current and future technology systems in an efficient and effective manner - with a U.S. focus on using pre-approved DoD applications for the U.S./Canadian border
3. Next Generation of Integrated Cross-Border Law Enforcement
4. Biometrics & Identity Management

Some of the leading experts that will be addressing these subject matters include:

* Mark S. Borkowski, Assistant Commissioner, Office of Technology Innovation and Acquisition, U.S.
Customs and Border Protection
*Richard Comerford, Regional Director General, Southern Ontario Region, CBSA
*Anh Duong, SES, Director, Borders and Maritime Security Division, S&T Directorate, DHS
*Stephanie Kirkland, Director General, Biometrics Project Office, CIC
