Better Place is committed to helping countries achieve independence from oil by constructing battery charging and exchange infrastructure to give zero-emission electric cars unlimited range.  As head of oil independence policies, my mission is to advance our ability to move countries off of oil by giving them a policy framework to speed the conversion from gas to electric drive.  In advancing that mission, I also am responsible for generating public support for these policies, and working with our collaborators in the automobile, utility and other industries.

Better Place is part of the portfolio of Maniv Energy Capital, which I founded in 2005 to explore opportunities in alternative energy and clean technology.  Maniv was the first investor in Israel’s first cleantech fund, Israel Cleantech Ventures, www.israelcleantech.com, and has interests in the hybrid bus company ISE Corp (www.isecorp) and the clean coal conversion company GreatPoint Energy (www.greatpointenergy.com).

Maniv Energy’s sister fund, Maniv Bioventures fully invested a $20m fund in a portfolio of nine companies across the life sciences stretching from the Bay Area to Jerusalem.
